Wedding photography at Winters Barns in Canterbury

I’ve been fortunate to frequently shoot wedding photography at Winters Barns in Canterbury and it is definitely an all-weather venue.

When you are choosing a wedding venue it is worth asking them what their plans are for an outdoor or indoor wedding ceremony and what contingencies they have for switching between the two. A photographer will work with you to identify alternative places to take pictures but this really needs to be done well in advance. How will the venue staff react to a change in the weather?

The sort of wedding photography at Winters Barns in Canterbury that I have taken has ranged from belting midday sun to full on rain. Tim & Katie’s recent wedding featured here was a mixture of overcast with the odd break in the clouds. In this scenario I used lighting to create shadows where they didn’t exist (overcast grey skies) or keeping people out of direct sunshine when it did appear.

Winters Barns has enough space to shoot bride and groom portraits in the old bridal suite and some group pictures in the main barn. They have a great team and are also very experienced in changing things around in a way that doesn’t affect any guests. It’s worth walking around your venue to see how it could work in a variety of conditions. If you’re thinking of how to make the most of your venue for your wedding photography then do please get in touch.
