Wedding photography at Solton Manor in Kent.
This month I had the opportunity to shoot some wedding photography at Solton Manor in Kent for the first time. Solton is a grade II listed house with history dating back to the time of the domesday survey of 1086. Stu and Tor choose it not only because it was such a picturesque venue but also because it was only a short drive (in a vintage Bentley) from their family church and home. Tor looked amazing in her dress (but I don’t know where it came from).
With speeches before the wedding breakfast (this really should be the norm as it means that the speakers get to enjoy their food) the afternoon became evening with a first dance, ceilidh, and fireworks.
With variable weather (sun, then clouds, a tiny bit of rain, then clouds, then sun – on a rotation basis) we were shooting with natural light one minute, flash the next. The evening shots were with radio controlled lights placed strategically.
