A popular location for pre wedding photo shoot for London couples is Greenwich, around the area of the Royal Museums. Now, despite doing my homework first you need to be aware that the staff there have a very strict policy on photography at the site. A tourist can take a picture of his girlfriend on the steps of the site but you can’t shoot a portrait of an engaged couple. In Canterbury we have a similar issue whereby the keen amateur posing as a tourist can take a picture of the cathedral and sell the image online whereas if you’re a professional photographer you need a permit. Anyway…
We had dark skies and a bit of rain, but there’s plenty of cover there. The columns help channel the light in sidewards which is how I prefer to light people if I’m not using flash (or not allowed to use flash as was the case that day). I did however use flash on one image across the road from the museums – just to pick the couple out and separate from the grey sky and stonework.
