Telling your teen’s story through classic, black and white photography

Compared with taking and sharing selfies, a photo shoot with a complete stranger can be a daunting prospect for a teenager- but it doesn’t have to be this way. By getting them involved in the process and with my years of experience, your teenager won’t be forced to pose, look a certain way or perform for the camera.

You know this already but the key to successful photoshoot will be ensuring that it’s not being forced upon them. Not everyone wants to tag along on a family walk and some might find it easier to invite a friend along and go off somewhere with them instead. Other teenagers like to plan a shoot around an interest or activity.

We’ll spend around an hour or two on location* – at home, near to home, somewhere that you or they know well or even a new place. It’s not at all formal and you’ll see from my gallery of examples that my style is simple, relaxed and honest. They don’t have to be confident or outgoing but you might find that the experience gives them a bit of a boost.

As an experienced photographer in Kent, I’ve worked with many families with teenagers to create classic, beautiful images that will last a lifetime. When I look back at my own family photographs and of my own children, I’m grateful that there was somebody – not always me – with a camera, stopping and preserving those moments in time.

Session fee

A session fee of £250 is payable in advance to secure your photoshoot (for a family, children or teenager) and includes:

• A relaxed family photoshoot either at your home or on location

• Guidance on how to prepare for your shoot including information on what to wear

• An online proofing gallery including 25+ beautifully edited images for you to purchase separately

• 1 x high resolution downloadable file of your favourite image

• £50 credit voucher towards additional purchases

Digital and printed products

There is no hard sell and I like to keep my pricing simple and transparent.

After you have seen your images you are welcome to purchase a range of products including books, prints and frames from £250. You  don’t have to have printed products and you are also welcome to purchase all of the images from the shoot as high resolution files on an archival USB.
