Hot in the city – London wedding photography south and north of the River Thames

A hot June day. Orla and James’s ceremony began in Hackney, then a lunch reception at Fredericks in Islington. The couple had thought hard about what they wanted, and we did the photography by St Paul’s, The Millennium Bridge, More London and the Blue Print Cafe near Butlers Wharf. The very dark church interiors and the iconic architecture of the outdoor locations meant working with the intense sunlight to add to the drama (as a backlight, a kicker, a rim light or using a bit of fill flash in the shadows).
