Are you looking for alternative wedding photography in Kent? Winter can surprise us with crisp, clear days (though bitterly cold and frosty). This month I had the pleasure to shoot an editorial / documentary style private winter wedding at the beach and Artist’s House/Beacon House in Whitstable Kent and the couple had chosen me because of my other editorial work. Editorial style wedding photography is a set of images that might accompany a magazine article and they have slightly different feel to “as-it-happens” documentary (though you can create elements of this). For those wanting the technical information – the lighting on the beach was supplemented by a single off-camera flash to be where I wished the sun could have been. The night time shots required a flash gun with an orange gel to provide the light from the house through the doorway. Pretty much all shot on a Canon 5diii & a 24-105L lens with some use of a 1diii with a 70-200L Mkii 2.8.
